DENVER, CO (February 11, 2014) — Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that Dean Health Plan (DHP) has selected its Health Language® solutions to centralize management of medical terminologies and code sets within its electronic systems. Integrating these tools will allow DHP to maintain a single source of truth regarding code versions, speeding integration and maintenance of content sets.

DHP will leverage the advanced Language Engine® to normalize data across disparate systems into standard terminologies such as CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10, ensuring more accurate translation for information exchange. LExScape® and LE Access Portal will provide mapping, modeling and management of standard code sets, grouping them in meaningful ways alongside local codes to best support DHP workflows and needs.

Based in Madison, WI, DHP is part of SSM Health Care’s integrated health system and covers more than 400,000 members across the south-central part of the state. The organization consists of a network of more than 2,000 providers, 28 hospitals and 189 primary care sites in 20 counties.

“Health plans increasingly need tools that will expedite the process of managing content to comply with a rapidly evolving regulatory and health information exchange landscape,” said Brian McDonald, Vice President, Health Language, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions. “We are pleased to have been chosen by DHP to provide the tools needed to effectively manage complex code sets and standards across the enterprise for future readiness and compliance.”
