New HTML5 Web Application Launched within ProVation Order Sets, powered by UpToDate Decision Support
Improved User Interface Speeds Uptake by Physicians, Streamlines Order Set Development Process
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (November 21, 2013) — Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today the launch of an enhanced web application within its leading clinical content management solution, ProVation® Order Sets, powered by UpToDate® Decision Support. Built using HTML5 technology, the improved user interface provides a more intuitive experience that can be accessed from any web browser on any type of computer or mobile device.
The advanced, responsive design interface speeds clinician training and uptake of ProVation Order Sets and ProVation® Care Plans, powered by Lippincott’s Nursing Solutions, enabling time-strapped physicians, nurses and pharmacists to be more organized and efficient with document review. Enhanced usability features — including single-click approvals, tracking of clinician “likes,” and a real-time message board with threaded comments — further streamline the order set and care plan development process, ensuring efficient roll-out of the latest evidence-based decision support at the point of care.
“Today’s medical professionals are bombarded with new requirements that often further tax or change workflows. Lack of usability within an IT solution can result in low adoption rates and ineffective implementations,” said Angela Humphreys, RN, Clinical Systems Analyst, Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, MO. “Our clinicians appreciate the efficiencies created by the enhanced HTML5 web application within ProVation Order Sets. The improvements ensure that the electronic review process is readily adopted, resulting in efficient order set development and satisfied clinicians.”
A central component of a healthcare organization’s care quality and core measures improvement strategy, ProVation Order Sets improves patient outcomes and quality of care by providing evidence-based order set templates co-developed with the authors from UpToDate. Customers achieve a return on investment through lower costs of care and the use of an intelligent clinical content management system.
ProVation Care Plans offers evidence-based care plans derived from Lippincott’s Nursing Solutions and its network of hundreds of practicing clinicians, allowing hospitals to define and maintain a custom library of care plan templates while adhering to industry-accepted nursing and medical diagnoses, goals and interventions.
“As healthcare organizations strive to advance adoption of evidence-based practices at the point of care, deployment of clinical decision support technology that streamlines processes and promotes uptake is critical to success,” said Mike Haldane, Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Documentation, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions. “The ProVation team understands the challenges facing healthcare organizations, and the launch of our enhanced HTML5 web application further demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the user experience.”
