Preferred Medical Plan Announces Expansion Plans and Job Fair
Health Plan Expects to Significantly Expand Employment to Accommodate Expansion Initiatives
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – July 11, 2013 – Preferred Medical Plan, the oldest independently owned managed care plan in South Florida, announced today that it expects to significantly expand employment in South Florida within the next year to accommodate demands of several major expansion initiatives. Most significant of these is a sizable increase anticipated in its individual commercial line of business in response to the launch of the Healthcare Insurance Marketplace (“Exchange”).
The health plan also announced the first in a series of Job Fairs (https://www.pmphmo.com/jobFair.php) to attract job seekers in all areas of managed care, taking place on Saturday, July 13, at the Sofitel Miami.
Preferred Medical Plan filed its proposed Marketplace products and rates earlier this year. It is currently working with the state Office of Insurance Regulation and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to secure approval of more than 20 new health plan offerings.
Preferred Medical Plan expects to participate in the federal Health Insurance Marketplace with Gold, Silver, Bronze and Catastrophic plan offerings in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

We expect to see our full-time and part-time staff to grow by several hundred due to our expansion plans.”
