MINNEAPOLIS, MN — July 30, 2010 — Theaddition of comparative efficacy content and the ability to include anunlimited number of parenteral drugs in each compatibility check are two of themarket-leading enhancements to Facts& Comparisons® eAnswers unveiled by Wolters Kluwer Health today at theFlorida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP) Annual Meeting.

For retail pharmacies andacademia, it provides online access to the most up-to-date drug information andmedication management tools tailored to their unique needs, enabling bettertherapeutic decisions in less time.

The new comparative efficacy contentsummarizes available comparative information and provides guidance in choosingthe most appropriate medication for the patient. Comparative efficacy for anindividual drug is accessed in a subsection that contains summary informationfor the particular drug on one or more conditions, along with a brief summaryof all drugs used to treat the conditions. Each condition listed features alink to the full comparative efficacy monograph, which provides a literaturereview and summary of the safety, cost and therapeutic considerations forvarious drugs that have been used to treat the condition in question.

The IV-Chek feature, which provideshigh-quality compatibility information using Trissel's Tables, has also beenenhanced. Most notably, clinicians can now run compatibility checks on anunlimited number of parenteral drugs at one time and readability of theprintable compatibility chart has been improved with the addition of bordersand gridlines and landscape orientation. The output is also now available inPDF format.
